Data:
U.S. bankruptcy indicators by court district, including chapter totals, business and nonbusiness counts, shares, per-capita values, and change measures.

Chapter guide:
All chapters = total filings across all included bankruptcy chapters.
Chapter 7 = liquidation.
Chapter 9 = municipal debt adjustment.
Chapter 11 = reorganization, commonly used in business restructuring.
Chapter 12 = debt adjustment for family farmers and family fishers.
Chapter 13 = repayment plan for individuals.
Chapter 15 = cross-border insolvency proceedings.
Other chapters = grouped chapter types not displayed separately in the main chapter list.

Business classification:
Business = filings identified as business-related.
Nonbusiness = filings identified as nonbusiness, generally personal or household-related cases.

Metric guide:
Total = filing count.
Share = proportion within the relevant total.
Per-capita = filings per 100 population.
Absolute change = year-to-year numeric difference.
Percent change = year-to-year percentage difference.
Per-capita change = year-to-year difference in filings per 100 population.
